City maintain title push with comfortable win at Forest
Foden and Alvarez goals prove enough to see off stubborn hosts
Manchester City continued their march towards the Premier League title with a comfortable 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.
Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez scored the goals that ultimately proved to be the difference between the two sides.
Foden fires City ahead
City took the lead in the 46th minute when Foden collected a loose ball on the edge of the Forest area and fired a low shot into the bottom corner.
The visitors doubled their advantage just six minutes later when Alvarez tapped home from close range after good work from Jack Grealish.
Forest struggle to respond
Forest never really looked like getting back into the game and City could have added to their lead on several occasions in the second half.
However, Forest held on for a creditable draw and will be hoping to build on this performance in the weeks to come.
